the Rev. Wheigar J. Bright

Rev. Bright

The Rev. Wheigar J. Bright is an alumnus of the Nashotah House Episcopal Theological Seminary, Wisconsin, US. He holds a Bachelor of Theology Degree from Cuttington University College and a Master of Divinity Degree from Nashotah House Episcopal Theological Seminary.

Rev. Bright was ordained to the Priesthood in the Episcopal Church of Liberia in 1986 and served as the Assistant Director for Christian Education for the Episcopal Diocese of Liberian in addition to other church duties he was assigned to, before coming to the US on a scholarship to pursue graduate studies.

Rev. Bright has served in several Episcopal Churches in the US since 1991 to the present. Some of these churches are St Gabriel Episcopal, Queens, NY; St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, Newark, NJ; Grace Episcopal Church, Utica, NY; Redeemer Episcopal Church, Greensboro, NC and St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, Yanceyville, NC.
Rev.  Bright currently serves as the President of the Association of United Liberians in the Triad, an organization which serves as a support group for immigrant Liberians residing in Greensboro and High Point.

Father Bright is married to Frances Bright who is a Registered Nurse. They have two children: Julian, 12 and Christine, 9.
